A step-by-step setup guide for WordPress, Squarespace, and Kajabi
Google has a feature called Preferred Sources. It lets your readers tell Google, "I want to see more from THIS website." When they do, your content gets a little badge inside Google's AI answers and Top Stories, and Google says those readers are about twice as likely to click through to your site.
The "button" you add to your website is not complicated tech. It is simply a link to a Google page wrapped in a little bit of styling so it looks like a button. When someone clicks it, Google asks them to add you as a preferred source.
Because it is just a link, you do NOT need WordPress. Any website builder that lets you paste in a custom code/HTML block will work. This guide covers the three most common: WordPress, Squarespace, and Kajabi.
Plan for 20 to 45 minutes and make sure you have full admin access to your website before you start. Always back up your site (or duplicate the page) before adding code.
This is the same no matter which platform you use.
